Eunomad Workshop on Youth and Recent Migrations on 23 and 24 November 2011

The next Eunomad workshop on Youth and Recent Migration will be held on the 23rd and 24th November, 2011 in The Hague, Netherlands

eunomad_seminar_276The next Eunomad workshop will be held on the 23rd and 24th November in The Hague, Netherlands. The theme of the workshop is: «Which renewal of co-development practices? Focus on Youth and recent migration".

The profile of migrants has changed. New immigrants are generally better educated and better trained than the first generation. The proportion of women is also higher. Moreover, a part of the children of the first generation is also involved in solidarity actions with the village or country of origin of their parents.

During these two days, several actions and / or projects of youth and new migrants associations will be presented. The purpose of these workshops is to analyse these practices in order to better understand the motivations and the positioning of these new actors of the co-development.

The workshop will be organized by the Dutch Consortium of Migrant Organizations (DCMO), in which eleven migrant organisations in the Netherlands from different background have joined forces for development projects in the various home countries together with their Southern partners, and projects for poverty alleviation and integration in the host countries (see the website: www.migrantconsortium.nl ). At the end of the workshop DCMO will officially launch the Dutch EUNOMAD Platform.
