Eunomad brings its expertise on the link between Migration and Integration to the 2nd Concord Report
CONCORD (European NGO Confederation for Relief and Development) released its second report in Brussels on 7th November 2011. This report focuses on the EU Policy Coherence for Development (CPD), and brings together contributions of Concord’s members including Eunomad. It aims particularly to highlight incoherences in the CPD and formulate recommendations for the Policy Coherence for Development to be in compliance with the Lisbon Treaty.
Different themes are covered: food and human security, natural resources and migration. Eunomad has contributed to this last point, and more specifically on the issue concerning the Migrants’ Integration.
While the new work program on Policy Coherence for Development 2010-2013 places the Migration as a priority area, the work themes concern mainly remittances, brain drain or dialogue with associations of diasporas. Yet, integration is not mentioned. However, without integration migrants cannot effectively get involved in activities of co-development with their country of origin.
